Isabelle O’Neill

Bio:

Isabelle O’Neill is a textile artist who creates framed wall art by composing a textured canvas of layered fabrics, painting and free motion machine embroidery. She also enjoys the meditative and free process of slow-stitching to create hand-stitched fabric collages, which she likes to use to introduce people to the joy, creativity and personal gratification that sewing allows. She believes her interest in needlework and textiles reside in their organic sense of warmth, a homely feeling, the creative solitude, and simplicity of a slower life. This tranquillity, she finds it in the beautiful cycle of nature which triggers a sense of contemplation in her. Inspired by this idea, she likes representing peaceful and familiar places or moments in time, with a certain whimsical detachment, that give a warm sense of belonging and gratitude. She also welcomes commissions so people can frame their own special textile memories.
