Úna lives in a wild natural environment in Corca Dhuibhne, West Kerry where she observes, and uses materials that she finds, and hones, for art purposes. She explores the limits of her fibre medium, subverting the soft nature of wool felt to, for example, make large visceral drawings of bones. But in the end everything must have meaning, grace and beauty. Film is also an element of her practice.
She is currently making slow drawings, re-working her intuitive marks. These drawings based on domestic objects, ancient trees and moving bodies will be developed into abstract felts and sculptures.
