Exploring 3D Embroidery
This class explores the techniques most commonly used to create 3D Embroidery – also known as as stumpwork ,
Raised work or raised embroidery. During the morning we will explore felt padding, string, and wire work.
Each person will receive a boxed kit with handouts and guides .
Using these techniques will take your embroidery to a new and exciting level.
About your Tutor:
Deirdre has stitched and embroidered for over 40 years.
I am from Dublin, currently living in Wexford.
I work in textiles, thread and paint.
I have studied with the Royal School of Needle Work , Hampton Court Palace, London .
I learned Jacobean embroidery, canvas stitch, silk shading and gold work.
I love sharing my knowledge with others so that they may create unique art works.
