Autumn Workshop Series with The Artful Weaver

This autumn, I’m offering a series of five workshops exploring my favourite practice in soft fibre basketry. Each week we’ll dive into a different technique, giving you the chance to play with natural and recycled fibres while learning the foundations of this versatile art form. By the end of the series, you’ll have a solid grounding in basketry as well as your own collection of unique pieces.

The series includes:

1. Coiling a Basket – using raffia or seagrass to learn this beautiful, accessible technique.
2. Soft Fibre Basket with Recycled Cotton – exploring how to create structure and form with upcycled materials.
3. Mariposa Stitch Wall Hanging – weaving raffia into a striking decorative piece.
4. Twined Wall Hanging with Paper String – introducing you to twining, a traditional basketry technique with contemporary potential.
5. Sculptural Basketry with Paper String – an introduction to my own freeform style of weaving, where baskets move into sculptural art.

Workshops can be booked individually, or as bundles:

All materials will be provided, and no prior experience is necessary—just curiosity and a willingness to explore.
